The first weekend of September is by far my most requested weekend for weddings. Leaves begin to change colors, the daylight hours are still long and while Summer knows its time is up, it happily welcomes Fall to take its place. As much as I’d like to say yes to all who inquire, I can only choose one and I am glad Eng and Jennie were one of the first to ask me to capture their special day. With gorgeous weather you’d expect from Malibu, the couple walked down the aisle amidst the lush surroundings of Calamigos Ranch with their closest friends and family as witnesses. I’ve known Eng since college, and I love that he told Jennie that he was going to marry her on their first date. Stationed in Georgia (the country, not the state with extra sweet tea) in different villages, they first met as friends until Eng worked up the nerve to ask her out. Their first date? A weekend in Istanbul. I wouldn’t say I’m an expert on love and dating, but most girls would probably not agree to go out with someone for the first time in a different country, and most girls would probably run if the guy proposed on that first date, even as a half-hearted joke. But some part in each of them must have known. She didn’t run and a few years later, they have one of the coolest how we met stories. I may have to try this strategy myself. I was thrilled at the idea of shooting their wedding and I’m extremely that it turned out to be such a beautiful event to remember.

You can’t fake that reaction. Their first look.

I loved this little Airstream trailer bar. So glad it was empty so we could do our little shoot here.

I give incredibly props to Jennie’s bridesmaids for helping her get around so gracefully this such an expansive dress.

One of my favorite shots from their engagement shoot printed onto canvas as a “guestbook” for friends and family to sign.

The newlyweds making their grand entrance during the reception.
