Steph and Garry

Stephanie and Garry came to me through a mutual friend in the start-up world, where Garry works as a partner at yCombinator and Steph at ModCloth. Garry is also a photographer, so naturally I worried about whether he'd be hypercritical of my style and technique. That concerned disappeared pretty quickly after Garry told me he shot with a lot of prime lenses and loved natural light. Perfect. So do I. For the engagement session, we started in the Mission District, a favorite neighborhood for the couple. You can't pass through the Mission without stopping for a burrito, so we did just that. With our bellies filled, we then headed across the city to Land's End and captured these dramatic shots of the couple amongst the wildflowers. Lucky for us, it was a surprisingly warm evening down around the waters and I did not have to worry about the couple trying to smile and kiss while freezing.
