Around The World Trip

7 months. 17 countries. 1 backpack. And a whole lot of memories. In the fall of 2010, I packed a bag, grabbed my camera and bought a one way ticket to London. I planned on chasing the sun eastbound and checking off as many items on my bucket list as I could while living out of a backpack, eating local food, and finding company in other travelers. The destinations would sort themselves out. I was lucky enough to have traveled to a number of countries prior to this, but never in such an uninterrupted whirlwind kind of way. I knew I'd be taking a lot of photos, but I also knew from experience that most of those photos would just sit on my computer once I got home. I wanted to capture the world and my trip in a way that could be summed up in a few minutes, so I decided to take time lapse photographs of all the places I would visit. I had a vague idea of what I'd do with the photograph should I complete the project and manage to safely bring my hard drives home, but I had no idea that one year later this would be the end result. The video is coming soon, but for now here is a photograph from every scene I chose to use in the video. There will be much more to follow including a detailed account of my travels and technical details about my equipment and my process. Enjoy.
