Last weekend, I flew to Vegas for just over 24 hours to do a product shoot for DJ TechPro and their new headphones designed for DJ Chris Garcia. Somewhere before and after the shoot, I managed to eat more than $24.95 worth of food at the Bellagio Buffet, sweated off the weight I put on by walking down the strip in 100+ degree heat and lost $1 at an airport slot machine. We shot at the legendary Drai’s after-hours lounge where Chris is a resident DJ. I’m never going to complain when you can combine work and play in the early hours of the morning. The place definitely had a classy vibe to it. Very intimate and dark. Great for chilling, not so much for shooting. But thanks to a couple of speedlights and Chris not minding so much when the flashes are firing back to back while he spins, we had a pretty successful shoot. After the shoot, I left the club as the sun started to rise, hoping with it, some ease in the humidity and heat. No luck. That’s Vegas in the summer for you.
