“Jason and I traveled to San Francisco from Pittsburgh to elope because San Francisco is our favorite city and we wanted a low key, urban wedding for just us two! I knew I wanted a photographer to capture our special day considering none of our family would be there and I refused to just have arm length face shots of Jason and I to commemorate our wedding day. I heard of Kien from my friend. Steph had worked with Kien on her gorgeous engagement shots, time lapse video, and wedding photos. I knew she had great taste and had rave reviews for Kien so I immediately wanted to book him.”
“Kien was great. He worked with me and my crazy schedule as we kept in touch over email and talked a week before our wedding to speak about the kind of look I wanted for our photos. He had great ideas and understood my laid back personaility and the feeling I wanted for the photos. Jason and I met Kien in front of City Hall on the day of our wedding and he was professional, super nice, and very sweet! We were a little nervous at first but he made both of us feel comfortable so we could both enjoy the day! We got lots of different shots in a lot of places around the city and the most amazing shots were when Kien made it seem like we were the only people in City Hall! Amazing! Kien spent 4 hours with us and he got so many great photos. I have so many favorites! The time with Kien flew by and before we knew it, it was time to say goodbye.”

“After looking at some of his previous shoots, my now husband and I decided to hire Kien for our engagement and wedding photos. We didn’t have any clear ideas as to what we wanted except good looking photos, of course. For our engagement shot, Kien planned to visit a handful of locations around San Francisco and brought along a few different props. His artistic eye was obvious from the beginning, as he would notice a flower plant or a bench against a brick wall along the way and ask us to do a few unplanned shots. He gave great direction and we both felt extremely comfortable, which came out in our pictures. He also brought out our individual personalities and passions, like photos of my husband juggling a soccer ball and me reading Gray’s Anatomy (I’m a doctor, he’s a sports fanatic).”
“On the wedding day, he was with us all day long in a variety of locations to capture both bride and groom getting ready, the ceremony, and of course the reception. We had a garden ceremony and Kien again came through with great suggestions for photos I would never have thought of, like having bride and bridesmaids climb through the bushes to get an amazing shot of us amongst the flowers. During the reception, he blended in with our friends and family and really became a part of the party, which definitely showed in our photos. He was able to capture the little details that would not have been appreciated by someone standing on the sidelines. He even went the extra mile and came to the rehearsal dinner to get some more casual shots of our friends and family.”
