After 343 days of traveling across 17 countries, I had finally compiled all the footage for my little show and tell slideshow. I’m a little late in posting this on the blog, but here it is. The video is called “Time is Nothing” and the song is “Places and Faces” by my younger brother, William Lam. I’ve seen dedicated several pages on my website to the video, so there’s no need in repeating what’s been written and posted. To read about my adventure and follow the video scene by scene, visit the Around The World page and to learn more about the trip itself, logistics and technical questions, go the FAQ page.
The video was quietly released on Jan 1st and as of Jan 8th, it has picked up over 1 Million hits between YouTube and Vimeo. Factoring in the viewers of the CNN segment and readers of several news outlets that self-hosted the video, I am happy to believe that the video has reached well over a million people. Along the way, thousands of people have tweeted about the video, Liked and shared it with their friends on Facebook, and even passed it along the old fashion way — by email. It appeared on the front page of Vimeo under the Staff’s Videos We Liked and YouTube shared it as the video of the day on their Facebook page that has 48 million and counting fans. I could not be happier and I deeply deeply thank every single person out there who has viewed and shared the video, even the ones that ask “Where’s Canada?”, “Where’s Greece?” and even “Where’s Mt. Everest?”. Thank you for writing and telling me that my video has inspired you in some way, however big or little, and for all the wonderful words of encouragements. I even created a small page of some of the awesome things that people have said about the video. You can read it on the What People Are Saying page.
Below, I’ve included a few of the prominent websites and blogs that have since featured the video.
